Taking the rough to the next level - color ideas. REMEMBERING TO KEEP THE PSD SEPARATE FROM THE JPEGS!!!!

Not my favorite one by a long shot. It's funny but I just don't like it.

The idea here is that the bird is trying to sing but is in the rain and water keeps landing on its head and making it hard to trill.

In a bubble? water splashing into birds face while its trying to sing.

bubble background - nice and subtle yet detracts from big bubble

I love the idea and color scheme on this one but everyone else isn't convinced...it is a bit abstract to draw a fish when the proverb is about liquid  - not fish.

Even more subtle background - perhaps too subtle?
Very strong background colors -but nice contrast with pale bird , makes it stand out. Not keen on how I've drawn the bird's tail though - or the feet. They look a bit like it should be standing on something but it's floating instead.

cutting the feet out? I prefer this one with the bird, but everyone, including me agrees that it looks better as a composition if it's the whole bird.

just the big bubble, and faded bubbles in the bird where the shading should be. Prefer this one. Very subtly but it works. gives the idea the bird is made of water? Perhaps overall the image is too pale though?
