235mm across

Lithoprint printer, set it to 3mm bleed

normal printer 2mm bleed

Guide to creating a multi-page PDF in adobe InDesign.

STEP ONE.

Open indesign and go to file > new > document

STEP TWO.

Set the number of pages and the size of the booklet and amount of bleed on the page.  In the 'New document' box, fill in the settings. Choose the number of pages and uncheck the 'Facing the pages' box. choose the page size, set the gutter and margins to 0mm and set 2mm for the bleed.

STEP THREE.

go to file > place...

Go to your pages. They should have been saved in a folder and have been named pages 1 to.....___  Name them like this because its easier to see how you want them to appear in the book. Select the page you want to be first in your book and click open.

STEP FOUR: use the selection tool to position your stuff in the page.Make sure it extends to the edge of the page - over the bleed. If you don't it won't print out right

STEP FIVE.

Do the same to every one until you have a list of pages.

STEP SIX.

Export your document as a multi=page pdf file, ready to print. Go to file >Export.

STEP SEVEN.

In the export box name the file and then make sure the format is set to 'Adobe PDF (print) and click save.

STEP EIGHT.

Another export box will appear. Under the 'general' tab, choose 'high quality print' for the PDF preset and PDF/X-1a:2001' for the standard drop down. Under pages, make sure 'all' is checked.

STEP NINE.

make sure Marks and bleeds tab are selected and click 'use document bleed setting'

STEP TEN.

Then click on the export button and finished! Now your file is ready to print.

Make sure you package everything with the document. If you deleted any images then the file won't open. keep the text and images separate in a packaged folder.
